Genome–wide association mapping for heading date in oats under subtropical environments

Selection for heading date has been a decisive factor to increase areas cropped with oats in Brazil. Although important oat breeders, genomic regions controlling have not completely identified. The objective of this study was identify subtropical environments. A set 412 genotypes, developed from 1974 2015, assessed contrasting environments and genotyped using genotyping–by–sequencing (GBS). Phenotypic genotypic data were used single multi–environment association models. Quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated identified on consensus groups Mrg02, Mrg05, Mrg06, Mrg12, Mrg21. Some the findings confirmed date, while others emerge as new candidate trait. Mrg02 Mrg12 Vernalization 3 (Vrn3), region Mrg21 is 1 (Vrn1). Vrn1 detected Londrina, an environment reduced vernalization condition, model. results reveal that some genotypes panel are responsive vernalization, increasing days without environmental stimulus. Our provide contribution better understanding strong basis marker–assisted selection oats.
